Limited UK Supply

The only remaining viable deposits of fluorspar in the UK are confined to the Southern Pennine Orefield, predominately within the Peak District National Park.

Virtually all fluorine compounds manufactured in the UK are derived from raw materials produced by Glebe Mines, but current accessible mineral reserves only enable the company to operate economically until the end of 2008.

INEOS Fluor currently meets the bulk of its acid grade fluorspar needs from Cavendish Mill. INEOS Fluor is now the only remaining hydrofluoric acid (HF) producer in the UK, supplying the UK Chemical Industry.
